I love sharing what we can learn from dogs with the public! I have presented research to a variety of audiences, from canine science professionals, to veterinary students, to elementary schoolers.
I raised a future service dog for the non-profit organization Canine Companions with adults incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Center Tucson.
I create content for the monthly SERVES+ Insiders newsletter, which allows donors to get an inside look into the research process and learn more about service dogs.
I am a science communication volunteer at the Functional Dog Collaborative where I summarize and dissect dog-related research articles so they can be useful for dog breeders, trainers, and owners.
When I was an undergrad at the University of Texas, I volunteered at Central Texas Pig Rescue as a member of the animal care team. Thanks to their support, I was able to establish their sanctuary as a research site.
During my undergraduate degree, I volunteered at the University of Texas Insect collection, where I taught students how to prepare museum-quality insect specimens for cataloging, and taught people young and old about insects in Austin, Texas.
